Paul Nodwell is a landscape architect and artist living in Toronto.  Whereas his professional life is centred on the goal of creating memorable places,  his art is an exploration of the wonder of those most memorable places built only by natural forces and time.

Working in both watercolour and acrylic, Paul searches out his subjects primarily from the stern seat of his beloved canoe. For over 15 years, Paul has ventured into the northern Ontario wilderness with an underlying passion to capture the spirit of place.

His efforts are not focused on the creation of eidetic images but rather the capture of the underlying structure and patterns of the natural landscape.

Paul’s work is both graphic and interpretive and celebrates the diversity of the Canadian landscape.  It is a study in the the organization of places most often seen as chaotic.

Paul is now venturing into new territory with his first public art commission and more to come (hopefully!).
